A Day in the Life is a two part Documentary which was broadcast on NEAR fm on Thursday 22nd & 29th October 2009. The aim of the documentary was to bring to the listener a slice of the multilayered lived realities of people resident in the Dublin North East area.
6 people 3 men and 3 women participated in the documentaries; they were chosen on a broad economic, demographic and geographic basis, this allowed for diversity in the life styles featured in the programmes. Furthermore, music chosen by the interviewees blended with their narratives to give a holistic view not just of their lives but their personalities.
A Day in the Life is a snap shot in time. The programmes showed the spirit and tenacity of human kind to triumph in the face of adversity, and the commonality of hopes and dreams for the future.
Programme 1 in this two part series features three women from the North east Dublin area.
